Kat Hillis, Founder
Kat has spent 20 years inside Canada's CPG industry — not on the periphery, but at the centre of it. She's led brand management, innovation, commercialization, and full product lifecycle work for some of the country's most recognized and beloved food and beverage brands, including many brands under Sun-Rype Products Ltd. She also has expertise in supporting international brand growth in Canada, including the fast-growing Sparkling Ice brand and Jones Soda Co.
She founded Katalyst because she saw an opportunity to support great brands entering or growing in Canada — brands that needed real in-country ownership of the work that determines whether a launch lands or stalls: the packaging nuances, retailer relationships, broker alignment, and consumer marketing that HQ alone can't drive from a distance.
Kat bridges that gap. She acts as a senior brand lead embedded in your business — building go-to-market strategies, coordinating cross-functional teams, and executing with the rigour of someone who has done it from both sides: as a client-side brand manager and as a strategic partner.
Her track record spans national retail launches, multi-channel marketing programs, and market entry strategies across categories. She brings a data-driven approach to everything, and a reputation for building strong partnerships with the people who make brands actually move — brokers, distributors, retailers, and agency partners alike.
